Today, the children enjoyed a Stone Age Enrichment Afternoon.  They cooked bread on an open fire, made rafts using sticks and string and even had a go at spear throwing!  Enjoy!

Over the past couple of days, we have been making aprons!  We made patterns, cut out material and used a running stitch to sew the hem.  We then cut out felt shapes to decorate them.  Enjoy!

This evening, the School Council held their annual Chocolate Bingo to raise money for 'Save the Children'.  Everybody had an egg-cellent time!  Here are a few Kestrels playing bingo and showing off their eggs!  Enjoy!

Today, the children have looked at a variety of aprons to find out what materials they are made from, how they are made and how they are decorated.  
 
They then went on to design a pattern for their own apron.
 
In science, the children have been thinking about what effect sugary drinks might have on our teeth.  We have started an eggs-periment to find out.  We have put 6 eggs in different liquids to find out how the eggshell is effected!  We are very egg-cited to find out the results in a couple of weeks!

Today, the children were finding out about why animals have different teeth.  They carried out an experiment using flour and playdough in order to find out why animals have canines and/or molars.

Today, the children enjoyed reading, listening to and discussing a range of Andy Tooze's poems.

Today, the children enjoyed taking part in different exercises with hammer thrower, Sarah Holt.  The children then had an inspirational assembly led by Sarah.  Some children were lucky enough to hold an olympic tourch.

Today, the children enjoyed having a workshop with poet, Andy Tooze.  They listened to him performing some of his poems before they had a go at writing their own.  Below are some photographs and videos of some of the children reading out their poems.  Enjoy!

Today, the children started to think about how our digestive system works.  They ate a sweet and thought about the journey of it.  They also drank some cold water to help them think about where their stomach is.

Yesterday and today, the children have been looking at mechanical systems in ADT.  They designed and made a moving book for a younger child  They then enjoyed sharing their books with children in Key Stage 1.  Enjoy!

Today, we really enjoyed our trip to The Grosvenor Museum in Chester.  We found out lots of interesting facts about the Romans before marching through the city as Roman soldiers.
