Mrs Chloe Bilbie

Parent Governor

I have two children at Etwall and I have been working in the office at a large primary school in Derby for the last five years. I enjoy working within the school environment, after a significant career change which gave me the opportunity to focus more on my family. This change also gave me the chance to learn about the challenges faced by all schools and also the system and policies they have in place.
Prior to working in school my back ground is in finance, I worked within the energy industry as a business analyst for just over 10 years and I have an accounting degree. My back ground gives me the ability to help the governing board oversee the financial performance of the school.

My son attends Etwall Primary School and is currently in Year 2. I have worked in education for seventeen years in various different roles, including: secondary school English teaching, SEND and primary school teaching. Primary school is the start of a lifetime of learning and should be full of positive experiences, enjoyment and creativity. I want to use the skills and experience I have acquired to help shape the future for our children at Etwall Primary School.

I attended Etwall Primary School when I was a child and continue to live in the local area. My enjoyment of my time at school led me to become a teacher. I am passionate about education and work at a Derby city secondary school as part of the senior leadership team. I believe that every child and young person has the right to a curriculum in which they see themselves reflected, respected, valued and celebrated. I have a young daughter who I hope will attend EPS when the time comes. I have a keen interest in the success of the school and look forward to being able to give something back to the local community by supporting as a governor.
