Firstly, we would like to thank you for considering Etwall Primary School as the next step for your child's educational journey.   
 
Within this section of the website, you will find information relevant to your child's Reception place application. However, if you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
 
 
If your child was born between 1 September 2021 and 31 August 2022 your child will be eligible to start school in September 2026.

Below our induction timeline to give you an indication of the transition and admission arrangements. 
 
Induction Timetable for 2026
 
16th April 2026 - List of children allocated to Etwall Primary released and processed
 
16th April - Welcome letters sent to all families via Arbor.  
 
1st May onwards - Visits to pre-school settings by Etwall staff
 
Class Dojo accounts set up for our new families.  Class Dojo is a great way of communicating between home and school and new information will be posted regularly!
 
21st May - Invite to join the EYFS Sports morning where you will have the opportunity to meet key members of Etwall Primary School and to join in with the fun activities.
 
30th June 2026 (9:30 - 11.00am) or (1.30-3.00 pm) - Induction sessions for children and welcome meetings for parents/carers.  This includes a stay and play visit with a parent and an introduction to Mouse Club. 
 
Your child will be invited to a 1.5 hour session.  After taking your child to the classroom, there will be a meeting in the hall with the headteacher and EYFS lead to share information about September.  The children will join you in the hall with their mouse!  
 
4th September - Inset Day (No children)
 
7th and 8th September- morning or afternoon sessions in school. Details of these will be given on the induction meeting in June.
  
Wednesday 9th September - Most Reception children in for full days from this day onwards.  Please note that if your child might benefit from a longer transition session or some half-days, this can be discussed with the EYFS team.
