Etwall Primary School is looking for a caring, enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team. We welcome applications from candidates qualified to at least NVQ Level 3, who have a genuine passion for helping children thrive across the whole primary age range.

Our school is a happy, welcoming place with wonderful children who love to learn and a staff team who support one another every step of the way. We set high expectations for ourselves and our pupils, and we work together to ensure every child feels valued, confident and ready to succeed.

The role is varied and rewarding, and is likely to include:

  • 1:1 support for individual pupils
  • Small‑group intervention work
  • Whole‑class support alongside the class teacher
  • Lunchtime SEND duties
  • Supporting ‘soft starts’ for a small number of pupils

This post is 26 hours per week, worked over four days. Working days are likely to be Tuesday to Friday, with final confirmation given on or shortly after appointment.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Inspires and encourages children to be their best
  • Builds positive, nurturing relationships
  • Has strong learning‑support and behaviour‑support skills
  • Brings enthusiasm, patience and a team‑focused attitude

In return, we offer:

  • A warm, caring school community
  • Fabulous children who are an absolute joy to work with
  • A supportive team who will make you feel part of Etwall Primary from day one

If you would love to make a difference and help our children shine, we would be delighted to receive your application.

Etwall Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to satisfactory references and relevant safeguarding checks including an enhanced DBS check with barring, and a childcare disqualification check.

Online/social media checks will also be carried out in line with KCSIE 2025 for candidates shortlisted for interview.
